Buffy's whole "I'm sixteen years old" speech. Wonderful stuff.
Xander arriving at Angel's home and says "mind if I come in", then barges in anyway - nice parallel to the fact that a vampire can't enter someone's home uninvited.
The reprise of the Buffy theme, as she marches to confront the Master, wearing her tattered prom dress, with bedraggled hair, and with Xander & Angel trailing in her wake.
Quotes
(As an earthquake hits Sunydale)
The Master:
Yes! YES! Shake, Earth! This is a sign! We are in the final days! My time has come! Glory! GLORY!
(The earthquake subsides, The Master turns to Collin)
The Master:
What do you think? 5.1?

Buffy:
Giles, care? I'm putting my life on the line battling the undead. Look, I broke a nail, okay? I'm wearing a press-on. The least you could do is exhibit some casual interest. You could go, 'hmm'.
Giles:
(distracted) Hmm?

Jenny:
I'm not stupid - this is apocalypse stuff. Throw in last night's earthquake, and I'd say we've got a problem. I would say the end is pretty seriously nigh.

(After Xander asks Buffy out)
Willow:
How did it go?
Xander:
On a scale of one to ten? It sucked!

Buffy:
So that's it, huh? I remember the drill. One Slayer dies, next one's called. Wonder who she is. Will you train her? Or will they send someone else?
Giles:
Buffy, I...
Buffy:
They say how he's gonna kill me? D'you think it'll hurt?
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Buffy:
Were you even gonna tell me?
Giles:
I was hoping that I wouldn't have to. That there was...some way around it. I...
Buffy:
I've got a way around it. I quit!
Angel:
It's not that simple.
Buffy:
I'm making it that simple! I quit! I resign, I-I'm fired, you can find someone else to stop the Master from taking over!
Giles:
I'm not sure that anyone else can. All the...the signs indicate..
Buffy:
The signs? (throws a book at him) Read me the signs! (throws another one) Tell me my fortune! You're so useful sitting here with all your books! You're really a lot of help!
Giles:
I don't suppose I am.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Angel:
You think I want anything to happen to you? Do you think I could stand it? We just gotta figure out a way...
Buffy:
I already did. I quit, remember? Pay attention!

Willow:
I knew those guys. I go to that room every day. And when I walked in there, it... it wasn't our world anymore. They made it theirs. And they had fun.

Jenny:
The part that gets me, though, is where Buffy is the Vampire Slayer. She's so little!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Jenny:
Well, then we need to warn her.
Giles:
I don't intend involving her at all.
Jenny:
What d'you mean?
Giles:
Buffy's not going to face the Master. I am.
Buffy:
No. You're not.

Giles:
I don't care what the books say. I defy prophecy, and I am going. There's nothing you can say will change my mind.
Buffy:
I know.
(She turns as if to leave, then swings a punch and knocks him cold.)
Buffy:
When he wakes up tell him...I don't know. Think of something cool, tell him I said it.
Jenny:
You face the Master and you'll die!
Buffy:
Maybe. But maybe I'll take him with me.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Xander:
How could you let her go?
Giles:
As the soon-to-be-purple area of my jaw will attest, I did not let her go!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Xander:
I don't like you. At the end of the day, I pretty much think you're a vampire. But Buffy's got this big old yen for you. She thinks you're a real person. And right now I need you to prove her right.
Angel:
You're in love with her.
Xander:
Aren't you?
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Master:
Welcome.
Buffy:
Thanks for having me. Y'know, you really oughtta talk to your contractor. Looks like you've got some water damage.
The Master:
Oh, good. The feeble banter portion of the fight. Why don't we just cut to the...
(Buffy spins and launches a crossbow bolt, which the Master catches mid-flight)
The Master:
Nice shot.

The Master:
You tried. It was noble of you. You heard the prophecy that I was about to break free and you came to stop me. But prophecies are tricky creatures. They don't tell you everything. You're the one that sets me free! If you hadn't come, I couldn't go. Think about that!

(Fighting for her life as vampires try to break through the door, Cordelia bites one on the hand)
Cordelia:
See how you like it!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Master:
Yes! Come forth, my child! Come into my world.
Buffy:
I don't think it's yours just yet.
The Master:
You're dead!
Buffy:
I may be dead, but I'm still pretty. Which is more than I can say for you.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Buffy:
It's just been a really weird day.
Xander:
Yeah, Buffy died, and everything!
Willow:
Wow! Harsh!
Giles:
I should have known that wouldn't stop you!
Nitpicks
Giles is quite obviously phoning Angel at one point - how did he get his number? Is he listed? Under what??
Buffy throws books at Giles in a rage - even upset, she's still the Slayer - how does she manage to miss? Surely she should have brained him!
The prophecy says "And the Slayer will not know him, will not stop him, and he will lead her into Hell" yet when Buffy walks up to Collin she specifically says "It's OK, I know who you are." Sounds to me like the Slayer does know him...
How come Cordy seemed to be driving so well, when a few episodes ago (Witch) we learned that she'd failed "Drivers Ed" twice already?
